Charity Sewing – Laundry Bag

This post is dedicated to Aussie Heroes – A blog encouraging people to make quilts and laundry bags for Aussie service men and women currently serving overseas, and to express our gratitude for their service.

The project is to sew a laundry bag themed for service men, since that’s what they are currently needing. So, I had a look on Pinterest (as you do) and came up with this design below. It’s almost designed to look like a punching bag!

I used my ScanNCut machine to cut out the words LAUNDRY and then used the Iron on Flex Transfer to simply iron this onto the laundry bag.

If you’re interested in creating one of these Laundry bags you can go to Aussie Heroes and they give you all the information in donating. This project was created at a time where they needed lots of bags but the majority of the laundry bags are made to match requests submitted by the sailors, soldiers, airmen and airwomen who will receive them.

So it’s best to understand the list of requirements before starting or simply contact them before you start your bag.

Happy sewing!
